Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school

Athletics Carnival
Our annual Athletics Carnival is a much-anticipated event that celebrates fitness, teamwork, and school spirit across all year levels. Students aged 8 years and up battle it out in their house groups at an exciting offsite carnival, taking part in a variety of track and field events that encourage personal bests and healthy competition. Our younger students in Kindergarten to Year 2 enjoy their own special Athletics session at school, where they compete within their house groups in age-appropriate activities designed to build skills and confidence in a supportive environment. Both events promote sportsmanship and community, making it a highlight of our school calendar.

Swimming Carnival
Our annual Swimming Carnival gives students aged 8 years and up the opportunity to compete at an offsite swimming venue, representing their house groups in a range of swimming events. This carnival focuses on building water safety skills, confidence, and swimming ability, while also encouraging healthy competition and teamwork. The Swimming Carnival is a unique and memorable event, celebrating aquatic skills and the spirit of friendly competition within our school community.

Book Week Parade
What better way to celebrate the joy of reading than a week filled with fun, creativity, and imagination? Book Week is a true highlight of the school calendar and a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our reading culture. A key event is the much-loved Book Week Parade, where all students from Preschool to Year 6 dress up as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life with colour and creativity.
MAGS Breakfast
At Edgeworth Public School, we cherish the special women in our students’ lives through our annual MAGS Breakfast. Held near Mother’s Day, this welcoming event celebrates Mothers, Aunties, Grandmothers, and Special Friends with a delightful morning gathering at school. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to show appreciation, enjoy quality time together, and strengthen community connections in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
DUGS Breakfast
Our DUGS Breakfast is a valued tradition at Edgeworth Public School, held close to Father’s Day to honour the important men in our students’ lives. Dads, Uncles, Grandfathers, and Special Friends are invited to join us for a relaxed morning at school filled with good food and great company. This event provides a special chance to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories within our school community.

Edgie Carols
Edgie Carols is a festive highlight held late in Term 4, taking place in the afternoon and evening. This joyful community event brings together students, families, and staff to celebrate the holiday season with music, singing, and holiday cheer. Filled with heartwarming performances and a wonderful atmosphere, Edgie Carols is definitely not one to miss. Join us as we come together to share the spirit of the season and create lasting memories.
